Description

The M109 is a 155 mm caliber howitzer from US production. Their development began during the Cold War in the 1950s. Since 1962 it became part of the artillery associations of many states and standard NATO howitzer. Until its replacement by the Panzerhaubitze 2000 in 2007, the M109 was also in the Army of the Bundeswehr in use. Since its commissioning the M109 experienced a multiplicity of combat value increases. The M109A6 Paladin version is still the backbone of US Army artillery. Technically speaking, she has nothing in common with the original variant except for the tub. With a total of over 5,000 copies produced, the M109 is one of the most produced howitzer worldwide.
