Series production of these vehicles began in 1959 and they were built until the 1990s.
With the introduction of the short hood, the era of the long hood ended, with a long snout and free-standing fenders.
The name short hood is based on the fact that the engine was partially integrated into the driver’s cab, resulting in a short hood.
The compact, rounded bonnet is a typical identifying feature of the Mercdes-Benz short-hooded vehicle.

The kit replicates a tipper truck with a wheelbase of 22.5mm (model 3600mm).
