Description
Between 2003 and 2005, 42 WLABmz 173.1 sleeping cars, known as Comfortline, were delivered to Deutsche Bahn. The SGP 400 bogies allow a top speed of 200 km/h. Three of the twelve three-bed compartments are equipped with their own bathroom, and the compartments can be connected in pairs to form a suite. This type replaced all previous German sleeping car designs. Between 2006 and 2007, the Cesk drhy purchased twelve almost identical WLABmz 826s, which originally bore the names of UNESCO World Heritage cities in the Czech Republic. With the introduction of the Najbrt design, the sleeping cars gradually lost their dark blue color scheme with the distinctive city silhouettes.
