Description

The HC85 series is a hybrid vehicle launched in 2019 as a replacement vehicle for the limited-edition Kiha-85 series express trains Hida and Nanki. The same system uses a hybrid system that uses the energy generated by the engine and the energy stored in the storage battery to drive the engine and propel the vehicle, reducing the environmental impact.
The test vehicle, which appeared in 2019, will be subjected to various driving tests before the introduction of series vehicles, the test results of which will be reflected in series vehicles appearing from 2022.
After the introduction of production vehicles in 2022, the test vehicle will be modified to production vehicle specifications and introduced on the limited express trains “Hida” and “Nanki”.
