Meet Gordon.
Gordon is a blue steam locomotive with a 4-6-2 (Pacific) wheel arrangement and the number 4 on his tender. Gordon first appeared in 1945 in the first book in Reverend Wilbert Awdry’s railway series, “The Three Engines.” Two other books in the series are dedicated to him: No. 8, “Gordon, the Big Engine,” and No. 31, “Gordon, the High-Speed Engine.” He pulls the express coaches of express trains.
All locomotives in the Railway Series are based on real historic engines. Gordon is presumably based on a Gresley Pacific prototype that was never built, but for which plans exist, as it is a 4-6-2, similar to the Flying Scotsman, an LNER A3 class locomotive.
Characteristics:
– Electric locomotive in N scale
– Realistic resemblance to the character from the series
– Compatible with N-gauge tracks and model railways
– Recommended for children 14 years and older
