The Faun L 912/45 A was a military truck made by the German commercial vehicle manufacturer Faun and was part of the 1st generation of wheeled vehicles used by the Bundeswehr. 214 vehicles of this type were delivered to the German Armed Forces between 1958 and 1970 and were mainly used as tractors for low-loader trailers up to 25 t, as well as towing and recovery vehicles.
